ゲームに登場する主人公専用武器。好きな作品あるいは好きなキャラクターのそれを手にしてみたいと思わないゲーマーは果たしているのでしょうか？

日本の企業TAKUMIARMORYは、2013 年以来、ビデオゲームにインスパイアされた印象的な武器のレプリカを製造しています。
ヒロイック・ファンタジー好きで、ジャパントゥールフェスティバルに出展するため特別に訪れた折井匠社長にインタビューしてみます。

X-tra:TAKUMIARMORYの冒険は、どのように始まったのでしょう?

折井匠：最初は、宝石店の看板やディスプレイ家具を作る会社に勤めていました。 4年前、自分の会社を立ち上げ、アクリルで造形物を作ったり複製したりしました。

ドラゴンクエストやガンダムなどが大好きで、こうしたおもちゃや商品に子供の頃に感じていたワクワクを取り戻したいと思いました。そこで、前職で学んだスキルを生かそうと考え、TAKUMIARMORYが誕生しました。

What gamer hasn't dreamed of holding in their hands one of the impressive weapons used by their favorite hero?

The Japanese company TAKUMIARMORY has been making striking replicas of weapons inspired by video games since 2013.

Interview wis its director Takumi Orii, a heroic fantasy fan, who came specially to exhbit at Japan Tours.

X-tra:How did the TAKUMIARMORY adventure start?

Takumi Orii:At the beginning, I worked for a company making sign and display funiture for jewelry stores. Four years ago, I started my own company to create and replicate acrylic artifacts.

I am passionate about games and anime, like Dragon Quest and Gundam. I wanted to recapture the excitement I felt as a child for the toys and merchandise from these siries. So I thought about how to apply the skills I had learned in my previous job and that's how TAKUMIARMORY was born.

I started by making swords and five years later 2017, I designed my first originak creations. Some of my pieces cost about 200,000yen, which is beyond the usual budget of quality of the presented.

“The Japan Tours workshops have allowes me to pass on my know-how.”

I sold dozens of items and made me very happy! The workshops allowed me to pass on my know-how by allowing the participants to make their own product, parents and children were delighted, and that touched me a lot! I hppe to come back next year for Japan Expo Paris!
